Getting started
Which devices does Hamstock work on?
Hamstock is for iPhone with iOS 18 or later, and you can download it from the App Store. It isn't on Android yet.
Why do I need an account?
An account lets you share your den with housemates and keeps your progress when you change phones. You can sign in with Apple or with your email.
How do I add food?
Tap Stash food to pick from Mochi Mart, scan a barcode or a receipt, or create your own custom food.
How do expiry reminders work?
Mochi reminds you the day before food expires. If you don't get reminders, check that notifications are allowed in the Settings app → Notifications → Hamstock.
How do check-ins work?
Once a day, or after every meal, tell Mochi what you ate. Your den updates and you earn XP, coins and streaks.
Houses & friends
How do I share my fridge with housemates?
In Friends, open a friend's profile and invite them to your house, or share your house code (DEN-XXXXXX) so they can join it. Everyone in a house sees the same fridge, freezer, cupboard and shopping list.
Can I be in more than one house?
Yes. Switch between houses (your home, a partner's flat, a parent's kitchen) from the header of the Den.
What can my friends see?
Your level, streak and shared goals. What you eat and what's in your den only show if you switch on Share my munches and Share my stash in Friends → What your squad can see. Both are off by default.
How do I invite friends?
Go to Friends → Invite friends to Hamstock to share a personal link, a QR code or your invite code. You can invite them into your house at the same time, and you both get bonus coins when they join.
Purchases
Is Hamstock free?
Yes. Everything that helps you waste less food is free. There are two optional extras: Hamstock Chef, a subscription for AI recipes, and acorns, a currency for extra looks in Mochi's Boutique.
What is Hamstock Chef?
Mochi's Kitchen writes recipes from what's in your den, using up the food that expires soonest. Tap I cooked this! and the ingredients come out of your stash. It's $7.99 a week or $89.99 a year (prices may vary by country and are shown in the app before you buy).
How do I cancel Hamstock Chef?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Hamstock. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel the subscription.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments and refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I bought acorns but don't see them.
Make sure you're signed in to the same account, then reopen the app. Purchases are credited once Apple confirms them. If they're still missing, email us with the date of the purchase.
Account & privacy
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Me → Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account and personal data. Houses you shared stay for your housemates.
Can't open the app? Email support@hamstock.app from the address you signed in with and we'll delete it for you.
Can I turn off my eating history?
Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy and switch off eating history. What was saved is deleted.
